International Conference on Computer Vision Theory and Applications, which is part of VISIGRAPP composed of three co-located conferences, specialized in computer vision, computer graphics and information visualization (http://www.visigrapp.org/). In additional, this conference is co-located with PECCS 2012 and SENSORNETS 2012 and the registration to VISIGRAPP allows free access to those conferences. The main topic areas of VISAPP are:

  • Image Formation and Preprocessing
  • Image and Video Analysis
  • Image and Video Understanding
  • Motion, Tracking and Stereo Vision
  • Applications and Services
Paper submissions are due to 24th October 2011 (strict deadline).
More detailed information can be found on the call for papers at:http://www.visapp.visigrapp.org/call_for_papers.asp

You have also possibilities to propose a satellite event such as a Workshop or a Special Session around a specific theme. Further details can be found on: http://www.visapp.visigrapp.org/propose_a_satellite_event.asp Note that Special Session and workshop chairs will benefit from logistics and other types of support, including secretariat and financial support, to facilitate the development of a valid idea.

Computational Modeling of Objects Presented in Images: Fundamentals, Methods and Applications

The purpose of the Conference is to bring together researchers in the area of computa- tional modelling of objects represented in im- ages. Different approaches, such as optimi- zation methods, geometry, principal compo- nent analysis, stochastic methods, neural networks, fuzzy logic and so on will be dis- cussed to face with problems from different applications: medicine, material science, sur- veillance, biometric, robotics, defence, etc..

3rd International Conference on Elderly and New Technologies.

Jaume I University (Castellón, Spain) on April 18, 19 and 20th, 2012

The year 2012 has been declared the European Year for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity. European Commission considers necessary and urgent that all citizens reflect on demographical efects of the ageing society, and promote the intergenerational solidarity to make possible the full inclusion of senior citizens in the social life of our age.

The 3rd International conference on Elderly and New Technologies aim to foster the inclusion of citizens, specially of senior citizens in the knowledge society. We consider that new technologies are playing a very important role in everyday life; technology can be used with great benefits for all individuals but also new risks and challenges raise. This conference aims to be a forum of researchers and professionals (gerontologist, engineers, sociologist, pedagogist, psychologists, etc) where main innovations on the field of education, technology for seniors and e-inclusion will be presented, allowing by this way the exchange of knowledge and expertise to reach a society where nobody is left behind.

The work done in the first and second edition will be extended and completed in this edition of the International Conference, going deeper in analysis and study on how and to which extend the use of ICT in senior citizens and for senior citizens drives to attitudes and commitments that make possible an active ageing and a higher quality of life.

You are invited to submit and present your papers (at the conference or virtually). The deadline for the Call for Papers is February 17th
