HUMODAN (an automatic HUman MODel ANimation environment for augmented reality interaction) is a European Project developed by a consortium of companies and institutions from Germany, Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The main goal of the project is the development of a group of software tools and technologies that provide the capability of capturing the motion of a Human being without the burden of markers and other devices used typically in this type of systems.

The project has been divided into two main types of applications with different requirements:

Real-Time Applications, the captured motion must be available "as soon as possible" for use within the application for interactive use.
Non-Real-Time Applications, the motion capture must be precise and smooth, the time is no longer a constraint.
